A Physical Therapist Who Made Health Playable

Building a home where TTRPGs meet health — so no one has to walk their Health Adventure alone.

ABOUT

THE ORIGIN

The Move Wise Story

I grew up in gymnastics, competing at the D1 level at the University of Illinois, and the injuries and surgeries that came with it led me to physical therapy. After more than a decade as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, one thing became clear: the way most people experience health and fitness is broken. Too expensive, too inaccessible, and wrapped in shame.

I wanted to change that. Then I discovered TTRPGs, and everything clicked. Exercise isn't fun for a lot of people, but games are. So I fused the two things I know best: clinical health care and tabletop gaming. That's where the Health Adventure was born, and what became the foundation for The Guild.

If this feels like your kind of table, you already belong. The doors will always be open for you.

Health and Fitness Should Be Accessible, Affordable, Approachable, and Fun.

THE PHILOSOPHY

We lead with kindness, not pressure. Shame has no seat at this table. Knowledge is shared freely, not gatekept. Health should fit your real life, not the other way around. We believe that getting healthier shouldn't require perfection, a complete lifestyle overhaul, or giving up the things that make you who you are. Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe on their journey. And no one has to walk their Health Adventure alone.

MEET DR. ANTHONY

Anthony, the Practitioner

For over a decade, I've helped people dealing with pain, recovering from injury, and chasing performance. But whether they were a parent, an athlete, or just someone trying to make it through the day, the experiences were similar. They felt stuck, overwhelmed, and abandoned.

I came to understand that the issue was never motivation — it was systems. What people were really looking for was structure, consistency, and something that actually worked in their real life.

That led me to focus on helping people feel seen and building strategies that fit them, not the other way around. When people are made to feel like a failure for anything less than perfection, it creates fear — not hope.

Those experiences still shape how I see health and fitness. And those lessons built the foundation for everything Move Wise is today.

Anthony, the Game Master

Purely by chance, I was introduced to TTRPGs later in my life. The storytelling, collaborative play, and self-discovery resonated with me like nothing before. All it took was one session, and I knew I wanted to tell my own stories. So, I began to GM.

Through play, I discovered that the rules provided safety rails for my players to explore their character and try new things. The fantastic nature of the story gave my players unspoken permission to be themselves and chase after goals. And level-ups were a constant source of excitement that kept them coming back to the table each week. That's when things began to take shape in my mind.

What if I could turn life into a playable TTRPG adventure? What if I could make health and fitness not only fun, but something people looked forward to playing each day? That spark, along with my skills as a GM, is when I began designing my first health game. And the moment my life as a physical therapist and my life as a GM became the same.

“He definitely creates an atmosphere of "we are a team" during what can sometimes be a tough recovery process. … Focusing on range of motion first and flexibility followed by strength, I always felt like we had a game plan.”
